Veterinary
Staff
Vets:
Dr
Kevin Cruickshank, BVSc, BSc (Hons)
Kevin was born and grew
up in South Africa, living in a small
coastal town, Port Shepstone, very
similar to the Gold Coast of yesteryear.
Kevin trained at the Faculty of Veterinary
Science at Onderstepoort, part of the
University of Pretoria. He graduated top of
his class in Small Animal Medicine and also
has an Honours degree in zoology. When not
treating patients he enjoys spending time
with his young family. He enjoys road
running and when possible, Kevin likes
combine holidays and scuba diving.
Dr
Fiona Cruickshank, BVSc
Fiona was born and grew
up in Johannesburg, South Africa. She too
trained at the Faculty of Veterinary
Science at Onderstepoort, University of
Pretoria, and Fiona has also studied
physiotherapy. While she loves dogs too,
Fiona has a passion for cats and their
medical problems, especially infectious
diseases. When not consulting or raising
her energetic boys, Fiona enjoys working
out at the gym, swimming, mountain biking
and scuba diving.
Prior to settling on the Gold Coast
Kevin and Fiona have practiced as vets in
South Africa, the UK and Darwin! They have
two young sons, Tristan and Ryan, as well
as "Jessica" a naughty- tortie kitty cat,
"Coco" and "Jazz" the Guinea Pigs and
"Biscuit" the Rat!!!!
Dr James Routledge,
BVSc
James is a very experienced vet with
excellent clinical and surgical skills, and
has a special interest in ophthalmology
(eyes). But most importantly he is a very
caring and empathetic vet and his style
fits our practice philosophy “Where Pets
are Family” perfectly. James works
part time at Gold Coast Vet Surgery, mainly
Fridays and Saturdays, and for longer
periods when Kevin and Fiona are on
leave.

4 years ago because of the beautiful

as a Vet Nurse for over 4yrs and her
favourite aspect of nursing is assisting
with surgical cases in theatre. Stephanie
has two pets, "Harley" a Pomeranian x Jack
Russell aka "Mr Fat Man" and a DSH cat
called "Calvin".

Jacqui
Stone
Jacqui has worked as a
vet nurse since 2003 and has developed a
passion for puppy behaviour, senior care
and preventative medicine. She has always
had a house full of furry friends so she
herself has been through many of the
problems you might be experiencing. You'll
most commonly hear about "Minnie" her
Pekingese who has been one of those
"problem children"!
Jacqui is our
Nurse-Receptionist so please feel free to
ask her for any pet care advice, either on
the phone or at the front desk. She'll be
only to pleased to help.
